Overhauled used plant finds a new home

In spring-like temperatures in the middle of the Swiss Alps, a processing plant from GIPO AG in Seedorf is delivered to a long-standing customer. The local business Bürgi AG / Bau AG Alpnach has a processing station at the Cholwald landfill site in Ennetmoos. Here the company produces road ballast, gravel and crushed stone.

As long ago as 2014, we designed and manufactured this customer's first tracked jaw crushing plant in close co-operation with the company. This plant has been in constant operation since it was procured and has proven itself in heavy use. Bürgi AG, under the management of Guido Langensand, decided again for a tracked impact crushing plant from nearby Seedorf. The GIPO P 131 GIGA weighs an impressive 65 metric tons. The used plant was completely dismantled and overhauled at GIPO. "This is a business area we would like to expand further so that we can give older, decommissioned plants a second life as well as offer our customers a more economical alternative to a new machine," says Marco Cammarata (GIPO AG).

After the two-month overhaul in Seedorf and challenging transport through central Switzerland, the plant is now to be put into service again. Initial test crushing is undertaken under the direction of service engineer Fredy Odermatt. Before starting the plant for the first time, he adjusts it exactly to the local situation and familiarises the two machine operators, Toni and Dani Burch, with the new "old-timer".

"The result after the overhaul is impressive, considering the state of the machine the first time we saw it," enthuses Thomas Gasser, manager at Bürgi AG. Now one excavator bucket loaded with large rocks (some of which weigh tons), gravel and stone is followed by another. Gradually, in its second life, the machine processes the feed material into high-quality components for gardening, road construction, landscaping and earthworks.

Swiss precision from the small municipality of Seedorf in Uri is once again demonstrating the performance and quality in use every day worldwide.

We would like to thank all involved as well as Bürgi AG Alpnach for the trust placed in us and the long-standing co-operation.

GIPO – move mountains with us.
